03/27/2023 Bryan Malakowsky's email breaking down his position.

The process that my group covers is the Sterile Filtration, Filling and Oversealing of all of the allergenic extracts that are made at JHS.  Temp positions would handle some of the cleaning and then either filtrations or oversealing.  So here is a breakdown of those areas and what we do and kind of what that means.

Cleaning of the SLM Non Aseptic and Aseptic area
  • Technicians are wearing scrubs or smocks and gloves.
  • Clean the area with specific agents of either sanitizer, disinfectant or cleaner depending on the day.  This is how we start each day off.  As a temp, they would be doing cleaning on the outside areas that are not as critical.  Duration is about 1.5 to 2 hours most days (Most physical part of the day).
  • Cleaning equipment is similar to household items, like mop pad and handle.
  • Some days do require protective gear to be worn.
  • Paperwork is about 10% of this work load

Filtration of Extracts
  • Technicians are wearing scrubs, gloves, sleeve protectors and masks
  • Extracts are in liquid form and are in canisters that weigh up to 65lbs.
  • Canisters are moved into a work station while filtering then removed when finished.
  • Canisters are then transferred to a washing station and washed
  • Some basic math is required for determining percent yield and product accountability.
  • Paperwork is about 60% of this work load

Oversealing
  • Technicians are wearing scrubs, smocks, gloves, sleeve protectors.
  • Oversealing vials requires technicians to run some basic machinery and equipment.
  • Some basic math is required for determining fill volumes
  • Paperwork is about 40% of this work load
  • Lifting about 20-30lbs from station to cart
