Bay Shore Systems - Fabrication JO: Tess Peutz requested help in filling their 2 Machinist II positions for their Swing Shift. Will train on Days for about 2 weeks. Position can get pretty dirty since it's a fabrication shop. Reporting to Bob Beamis/Fabrication Production Manager. Drug/BG required. Skills Required: Met the requirements of Machinist 1 job description. • Possesses a working knowledge of shop math. • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and schematics • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools related to machining. • Ability to work independently and learn quickly; self -starter/self-motivated individual.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a high level of physical flexibility, strength, and stamina, including the ability to: see and assess drawings, photos, and written instructions; audibly hear verbal instructions and mechanical signals; and speak, read, write, and communicate effectively. • Must have full range of body movement. • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. • Must maintain confidence and balance while working on ladders up to 12 feet tall. • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, equipment, hot materials, moderate to extreme noise, fumes, and airborne particles. • Must agree to wear any and all necessary personal protective equipment to include: o Eye protection required to reduce risk of injury. o Approved footwear required. o Ear protection is required. o Other PPE as necessary to perform duties • Able to push/pull loads with pallet jacks/carts/hand trucks/ etc. • Able to operate forklifts. Top 3 Qualifiers: 1. Experience with manual and CNC lathe, and mill. Master CAM is a bonus. 2. Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and schematics. 3. Ability to operate hand tools and power tools related to the fabrication position. WHY APPLY: Family oriented, fun group. Average Day: Under supervision, the Machinist 2 machines parts for production units by blueprint specifications utilizing a variety of major machine tools such as a drill press, grinder, deburring equipment, manual and CNC lathe, and mill. Master CAM is a bonus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Grade 1 • Cleans, deburrs, and finishes parts to meet shop standards. • Maintains a neat, clean, and organized work area. • Performs all assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner. • Performs duties as assigned by lead or supervisor • Has the ability to use mills and lathes. • Has the ability to set-up jobs for the lathes and milling.
Grade 2 • Inspects incoming materials for use in machining parts. Verifies compliance of materials to blueprint specifications. Notifies supervisor if discrepancies occur. • Refers to blueprints and diagrams to perform minimal setups and tool adjustments for production. Uses micrometer, verniers, scales, etc. To ensure quality control. • Machines new and replacement parts for production units utilizing shop machines such as lathes, mills and drill and hand presses. • Maintains equipment in safe operating order. Performs repairs on minor machine malfunctions. Notifies supervisor of major machine malfunctions.
