JO: Kelly Wolfinger requested help with filling their Health Information Specialist position.   They are needing extra help in this department. Pay  $20.00/$27.33
Kelly Wolfinger will want to meet the candidate, or they will have a phone interview with one of the Directors.  CC8810 $20.00/27.33 Reporting to Kelly Wolfinger the First Day. Call Out to Kelly. Supervisor will be (will get contact info)  Rosa has the lead.  TB/D/B and Flu shot mandatory.  No Covid Shot required.  MASK required Submit resumes to Kelly for review.

Shift: * - Days * Waiting on actual schedule
Wage: $20.00/27.33
NOTE:  DRUG TEST DONE ON FIRST DAY
SMOKING POLICY: They just have be to nicotine free while working (no smoking or nicotine breaks) but they can use nicotine when not working  

Skills Required: *Knowledge and demonstrated competence working with Microsoft Office software, to include Excel, Word, and e-mail programs. High School diploma or equivalent preferred

*2 years previous medical office or medical record experience preferred  
 *Demonstrates ability to apply knowledge of office operation and proficiency in computer applications related to position duties with a variety of software
- Experience working in a hospital or medical office  Ability to work well in a team environment, and independently with minimum supervision. 
Top 3 Qualifiers:
1. Degree in Health Information Management or RHIT certification preferred 
2. Previous office/hospital experience preferred
3. Knowledge of Laws or regulations regarding Privacy Act and Confidentiality

Average Day:

Performs chart processing function for the patient medical record; such as prepare, scan, index, and quality review of the scanned medical record. 

Responsibilities:

Works in numerous EMR’s reviewing release information with a high level of accuracy and documents appropriately for accounting of disclosure

Reviews the legal components of the medical record, ensuring that release of information activities are performed with the highest level of accuracy

Uses knowledge and training of regulatory compliance and RCW, as it relates to patients right to restrict and amend their record

Follows record retention guidelines, including Kootenai Health’s policy for records destruction and age of retention, also outlined in RCW 70.41.190

Manages the patient identity in accordance with the red flag rules and regulations

Performs other related duties as assigned

Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field

Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function

Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
