Will be working in the shipping and receiving area to start with and in time they'll be trained into other areas of the Materials Department - they're very big on cross training and the goal is to have everyone on the team competent on all stations. Day-to-day they will use a bill of material (BOM) to get the necessary parts ready for the production floor. Will be responsible for getting the parts out to the production floor so they can build the various products. This person will also help do inventory. This person must be comfortable using computers - they have an industry specific database system (older model) they use which they're happy to train on, but need someone with general computer competency. This person will help receive bulk parts and put them in the their proper locations. They will help ship finished products too including stacking finished goods on a pallet and wrapping them. Critical components include having someone who's accurate with their counting and number reading. A few things to note include: in the summer, the warehouse does get very warm as it does not have AC, but it is heated in the winters. In the winter, the Materials team helps with snow shoveling the sidewalk. They have a snow plow that does the parking lot, but the side walks are managed by the materials team, so this person will need to be prepared to be shoveling snow for maybe an hour when there's a snow fall. Health and Safety wise: this person will occasionally lift up 50lbs (greater than 50lbs requires a buddy lift) but will lift up to 30 somewhat often.
